About
Riya Rathod is a millet awareness advocate based in Gurugram, India, and a volunteer with the Isha Foundation. She began consuming millets in 2017 and has campaigned since on their role in soil regeneration and everyday nutrition. She joins the World Millet Federation to work on mass millet literacy through content creation and to encourage cafes, restaurants and food outlets to carry millet dishes on their menus.
Millets track record
She actively supported the Save Soil movement from 2022, raising awareness of how millets contribute to soil health, and completed millet entrepreneurship training with Nutrihub at IIMR, Hyderabad, in January 2026. Her wider ambitions include millet-focused cafes serving sattvik, Jain and vegan diets, a millet news channel on social media, and livelihood opportunities for homemakers within the millet ecosystem.
